I posted recently about "The Lazy Environmentalist" and a show about "green" pet products. Another suggestion that I'll be considering was the use of botanical shampoos and sprays as a flea repellent, instead of the topical chemicals that have all the warnings. I don't know about you-but I don't like the feeling that I'm hugging a dog that's got pesticides all over him.
They mentioned Neem as a healthier alternative. Neem seed oil has been very successfully used in the healing of topical skin ailments including dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis, acne, tinea, burns, rashes, ulcers and cold sores. I checked in with our friends at Bella's Pain Relief, and they carry two Neem products-the Neem Protect Shampoo and Neem Oil. It can be used as a insect repellent, and even treats ringworm! Can your flea meds do that?
