2007 is coming to a close, and we've found so many great pet products this year that we just had to recap...
First off, the FURminator deShedding Tool is the greatest advancement a chow/husky/golden retriever owner can own. We removed A POUND of hair from our test dog, Lyger, a fluffy lab mix. (No kidding, we weighed it.) Our hardwood floors and furniture upholstery thank us for making the $28 investment.
Next up, the squeaky, bouncing toy Octopus from Ruffians. We first heard that this toy held up well after some tough use from our friends, Deuce and Pugsly, two bully-breeds that know how to put a squeaker toy to good use.
My own Rottweiler and Lab play keep-a-way with their Ruffian, (affectionately nicknamed "squeaky the squid') and after several months of daily play, the toy (and squeaker inside) is still in one complete piece. The best $6.50 you'll ever spend on a squeaker toy.
This year we also learned about the European style leash, who's multiple hooks and loops make the one leash a multi-function dog walker must have, allowing you to walk one dog at 3 different lengths, hands free, or two dogs at once.
Leather leashes from PetGuys.com make walks and training easier on your hands.
And for the kitties, the Thermo Kitty Kup heated orthopedic foam bed is just the thing to make cat naps pure delight. The bed remains 12-15 degrees above room temperature, and will warm to a cozy 102 degrees when in use.
Tell us about your favorite find of 07, and we'll write it up as a must have for 2008.
